Camden Police are currently investigating an armed robbery that took place late last week.
The robbery took place on Kaighn Avenue around 11 P.M. when the victim was approached by two suspects who allegedly threatened him with a knife and a gun. The suspects proceeded to take the victims cash before running away towards Sycamore Street. The suspects have been described as black males wearing all black clothing. Police are seeking the public’s help for possible leads.
If the suspects are apprehended by police, they could be charged with robbery which can be either a first or second degree crime in New Jersey depending on the circumstances. In this case, the suspects would likely be charged with first degree robbery since they threatened the victim with deadly weapons. A conviction for first degree robbery can result in a sentence of 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison, 85 percent of which must be served before parole eligibility.
