Authorities are searching for two men in connection to an assault that took place on Sunday.
The incident, which has been described as a large fight, took place in a Wawa parking lot on Springfield Road. The police responded and found a victim with a significant head injury who was sent to the hospital. The injury was not considered life threatening. One suspect was described a light skinned Hispanic or black male in his early twenties while the second was described as a dark skinned black male also likely in his mid twenties. They were driving a blue Ford Expedition with tan trim. Police ask that anyone with information on the suspects contact them immediately.
Depending on the circumstances in this case, the suspects could be charged with simple assault or possibly aggravated assault. If the fight was entered into mutually, the suspects are likely to be charged with simple assault which is a disorderly persons offense that can result in 6 months in county jail. If the injury to the victim is deemed serious enough, however, the suspects could be charged with aggravated assault.
