Police are investigating the stabbing death of a recent Glassboro High School graduate in Pine Hill, NJ.
According to authorities, 19-year-old Jordan Holden was killed outside The Greens at Pine Hill, an apartment complex in the 300 block of Blackwood-Clementon Road.
Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of an altercation in front of the complex. When officers arrived, they found Holden in the parking lot with a stab wound to the chest. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office released a statement indicating that Holden, who lived in Clementon, NJ, was stabbed once.
Holden was taken to Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, but doctors were unable to save him; he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police have not identified any suspects in the stabbing; however, the investigation is ongoing.
As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, homicide is the most serious offense in the NJ criminal code. Although first degree felonies are typically punishable by a maximum of 20 years in New Jersey State Prison, homicide is treated differently; a conviction for first degree murder can net a defendant a sentence of between 30 years and life in state prison.
