Winslow Township police arrested three men who allegedly robbed a local gas station using airsoft pistols.
The three suspects allegedly pulled into a Citgo gas station on Route 73 and instructed the attendant to fill up the vehicle. As soon as the attendant began filling the car, two of the suspects got out of the vehicle and allegedly pointed handguns at the attendant. The suspects then allegedly demanded that the attendant hand over cash.
When the attendant attempted to run away, the two suspects reportedly grabbed him and brought him back to the gas station.
The suspects allegedly forced the victim to give them his money. The suspects also allegedly stole cigarettes before getting into their car and fleeing the scene.
A short time later, a Winslow police officer saw the suspects’ vehicle driving on Route 73 near Cedar Brook. The officer pulled over the vehicle and arrested all of the suspects without incident.
According to authorities, officers recovered cash, masks, and two airsoft pistols from the car. Additionally, investigators were able to identify two of the suspects as the men who had aimed the airsoft guns at the victim.
Moreover, authorities said that the three suspects admitted to the robbery when questioned by police.
The suspects have all been charged with first degree robbery. They also face charges for criminal restraint, unlawful possession of a weapon, and aggravated assault.
One of the suspects is reportedly from Vineland NJ, while the other two suspects are from Atco NJ. They are all currently being held at the Camden County Jail, with their bail amounts initially set at $100,000.
During the course of the investigation, police also determined that one of the suspects committed a robbery in Chesilhurst NJ late last year. As a result, he faces additional charges for robbery and aggravated assault. Moreover, his bail amount was increased to $250,000.
