A Camden NJ man has been sentenced to 5 years in state prison for forcing a woman to touch his genitals during a violent assault in Westville, New Jersey.
The incident occurred in January 2014. According to law enforcement, the 39-year-old suspect approached the victim at a bus stop in Gloucester City and offered to give her a ride in his vehicle.
The suspect reportedly drove the victim to a home in Westville NJ, where he punched her in the face and demanded that she touch his genitals.
The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with third degree aggravated criminal sexual contact. In June, the suspect pleaded guilty to the sex crime charges.
The suspect later admitted to committing the sexual offense. He appeared in Gloucester County Superior Court in June 2015 and pleaded guilty to the charges.
Now the suspect has been sentenced to serve 5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
When handing down the sentence, the Gloucester County Superior Court judge said that the suspect was not considered a repetitive and compulsive offender, according to findings by the NJ diagnostic and treatment center for sex offenders. As a result of the experts’ conclusions, the suspect will remain in prison and will not be eligible for confinement at a treatment center.
