Police in Woodbury NJ recently arrested a Camden man accused of firing gunshots at several people standing outside a local gas station.
The violent incident went down around 10:45 a.m. According to authorities, the suspect approached the victims and used a handgun to fire numerous gunshots at close range. At the time of the shooting, the victims were at the 76 Gas Station located on Mantua Avenue in Woodbury, New Jersey.
The Woodbury Police Department received a report of gunshots being heard and immediately dispatched officers to the area. When Woodbury NJ cops got to the gas station, they found the victims. The suspect was gone by the time the police officers arrived at the scene.
Thankfully, nobody sustained any injuries as a result of the shooting.
Woodbury police and Salem County detectives worked together to investigate the shooting and quickly identified the suspect as the likely shooter. Law enforcement then tracked down the suspect in Woodbury and placed him under arrest.
The suspect, a 19-year-old resident of Camden NJ, faces multiple criminal charges, including two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon, and one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being apprehended and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Salem County Correctional Facility. He was being held at the jail in lieu of a $300,000 bail amount, with no 10-percent cash option for posting bail.
