Brooklawn NJ police officers arrested a local man who was allegedly carrying a shotgun while walking in the borough.
The Brooklawn Police Department got several 911 calls around 6:20 p.m. from concerned residents at the Brooklawn Norse Apartments who said that they saw a man carrying a shotgun behind the apartment complex.
In addition to reportedly brandishing the firearm, the suspect also allegedly discharged the shotgun at a motor vehicle in the parking lot.
When Brooklawn cops arrived at the scene, they established a perimeter and quickly subdued the suspect without incident.
Thankfully, no one sustained any injuries during any of this.
A later search of the suspect’s apartment reportedly led police to the discovery of two more firearms.
The suspect, a 51-year-old Brooklawn resident, faces numerous criminal charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, a certain persons offense for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and aggravated assault.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was remanded to the Camden County Jail in Camden, New Jersey. He was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of a $50K bail amount, with no 10-percent cash option for posting bail and securing his release.
