A Camden County grand jury has indicted two men on first degree murder charges for a fatal shooting in Camden, NJ.
The two suspects, a 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old man from Camden, allegedly committed the homicide in August 2013.
According to Camden County prosecutors, the suspects murdered a 19-year-old Camden NJ resident during a robbery attempt.
The suspects were reportedly passengers in a 1986 Honda Civic being driven by the victim. When police found the victim, he was seated in the driver’s seat of the car. The vehicle had crashed into a fence along Louis Street and Atlantic Avenue in Camden, New Jersey.
The suspects were eventually identified and charged with a number of crimes, including first degree murder, felony murder, conspiracy to commit murder, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Additionally, one of the suspects was charged with a certain persons offense because he was allegedly a convicted felon not allowed to possess a handgun under any circumstances.
Now the suspects are set to face trial after being indicted by a grand jury.
The teenage suspect will face adult charges in Camden County Superior Court because his case was waived from Camden juvenile court.
