A Camden NJ man has been sentenced to a term of incarceration of 75 years in New Jersey State Prison after being convicted of the shooting deaths of two men.
During the trial in Camden County Superior Court, NJ prosecutors presented evidence showing that the suspect likely shot two men to death in a motor vehicle on December 9, 2011. The suspect was allegedly sitting in the backseat of a Toyota Camry, while the two victims were standing outside. The car had been parked near the Pine Ridge apartment complex in Lindenwold, New Jersey.
The victims in the shooting incident were a 24-year-old man from Berlin NJ and a 24-year-old man from Lumberton, NJ.
Police eventually arrested the suspect and charged him with two counts of first degree murder, as well as weapons offenses.
By the time the murder trial started, the suspect was already incarcerated in a federal prison, serving a 17-year sentence on unrelated armed robbery charges.
Now the suspect, a 28-year-old man from Sicklerville, NJ, is looking at spending several more decades behind bars. That’s because he was convicted by a Camden County jury in the homicide case and was subsequently sentenced to 75 years in state prison.
Since the sentences are set to run consecutively, the suspect will first have to complete his sentence for the federal armed robbery charges before being transferred to NJ State Prison so that he can serve his sentence for the homicide charges.
