Camden County police have released a sketch of a man who allegedly committed a sexual assault of a woman in Camden, New Jersey.
According to authorities, the sexual assault happened around 6:30 a.m. The suspect reportedly approached the woman while she was walking on Spruce Street in Camden, NJ.
The suspect allegedly forced the woman out of view and to a dumpster located behind the Off Broadway Lounge. The suspect then allegedly raped the victim.
The Camden County Police Department investigated the incident but was unable to identify the suspect.
Now Camden County police have asked for the public’s help in determining the suspect’s identity.
In addition to releasing a sketch of the suspect, police have released a description of the suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male with a weight of roughly 170 pounds. Additionally, the suspect is said to stand approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall.
On the day of the incident, the suspect reportedly wore gray shorts, a white T-shirt, a black cap, and Nike Air Jordan shoes.
If the suspect is ultimately identified and located, he would be subject to significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2, anyone who uses physical force to commit an act of sexual penetration can be charged with a second degree crime. A conviction on second degree sexual assault charges can result in a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
