A man from Camden was found shot in his car on Saturday night.
The young man, Nhat Tran, was found around 8:30 p.m. in his tan Nissan Sentra on 34th and Rosedale Streets. Tran was taken to Cooper University Hospital but they were unable to save his life. He was pronounced dead around 9:30 p.m. Police have not provided any other information on Tran or whether there are any possible suspects. They do, however, ask that anyone with information contact them immediately.
If a suspect is arrested by police, he would likely be charged with murder, the most serious crime in the criminal code. Murder in New Jersey is a first degree crime. Most first degree crimes carry a penalty of 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison. Murder, however, can result in an even harsher penalty of 30 years to life in State Prison. Further, if you are sentenced to more than 30 years, you will not be eligible for parole until you complete 30 years.
