Police recently arrested a Camden New Jersey man accused of sexually assaulting a young child in Glassboro, NJ.
According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the 61-year-old suspect sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 on more than one occasion. All of the sexual offenses are believed to have occurred in Glassboro during January 2012.
Investigators said that the suspect was in Glassboro around that time because he had a relationship with a woman in the borough.
Authorities first began to look into the allegations after the child informed a school counselor of the alleged sexual acts. The investigation included both the county prosecutor’s office and the Glassboro Police Department.
The suspect was placed under arrest after he showed up at the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. He has been charged with a number of sex crimes, including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Salem County Correctional Facility. He is being held at the jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
