A Camden NJ man has been accused of fatally shooting one woman, and injuring another woman, on a city street in August.
The violent incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on August 8 outside Eugene’s Barbershop, which is located at 818 South 6th Street in Camden, New Jersey. According to authorities, the suspect was riding a bicycle when shot and killed a 21-year-old woman who was standing in front of the barbershop. Additionally, the suspect allegedly shot an 18-year-old woman who was standing next to the homicide victim. Both shooting victims were residents of Camden.
Camden County law enforcement investigated the shooting, but investigators were unable to identify the suspect until two witnesses remembered seeing a man with a bull’s-eye tattoo on his face in the area of the shooting. Camden County detectives confirmed this description of the suspect by obtaining video surveillance footage showing the block next to the Camden NJ barbershop.
Police eventually tracked down the suspect in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and placed him under arrest.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man who resides in Camden NJ, faces first degree murder charges in connection with the shooting incident. If the suspect is ultimately convicted of first degree murder, he could wind up being sentenced to life imprisonment.
After being extradited back to Camden County, New Jersey, the suspect was remanded to the Camden County Jail in lieu of a massive $1.5 million bail amount.
