Camden County police recently arrested a Camden NJ man accused of murdering a couple earlier this year.
The homicides were committed on April 4 at a residence located on 26th Street in East Camden, New Jersey. The 37-year-old suspect allegedly went inside the victims’ East Camden home and used a handgun to fatally shoot both of them.
The Camden County Police Department received 911 call about gunshots being fired in the area and immediately dispatched officers to the scene. By the time police officers arrived at the residence, the suspect was already gone.
The victims were pronounced dead approximately 20 minutes after law enforcement and emergency medical responders got to the home.
The male victim was just 23 years old when he died, while the female victim was 25 years old at the time of her tragic death. Prior to their deaths, the victims had gotten engaged.
The Camden County Police Department, the Pennsauken Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Task Force conducted an investigation and eventually tracked down the suspect in Pennsauken, NJ. He was arrested without incident.
The suspect, who lives at a house located on the 1800 block of Filmore Street in Camden NJ, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the slayings.
While the suspect awaits resolution of the criminal charges against him, he is being held at the Camden County Jail in Camden, New Jersey.
