Camden NJ Police Searching for Man Accused of Armed Robbery on City Street

Camden NJ Armed Robbery SuspectPolice in Camden NJ are investigating the armed robbery of a man who was sitting in his car.

According to authorities, the robbery occurred on the 200 block of 27th Street in Camden, New Jersey. The victim was sitting in his parked car when the suspect approached the vehicle. The suspect allegedly brandished a black handgun and threatened the victim.

The victim reportedly handed over his wallet to the suspect, at which point the suspect ran away and fled the area on foot.

Camden police were called to the scene to investigate. Although officers looked for the suspect, he was already gone by the time they got to the scene.

Police officers spoke with the victim, who gave police a detailed description of the suspect. According to the victim, the suspect is a Hispanic male who stands 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 180 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and light gray denim pants. He also had a black mask covering his face and black gloves on his hands. Additionally, the suspect probably spoke with a Puerto Rican accent.

During the investigation, police came across surveillance video footage of the suspect. The footage reportedly shows the suspect walking in the area prior to the theft. Beyond that, the footage is said to show the suspect running from the area immediately after the robbery.

The video footage can be viewed on the Camden Police Department Facebook page.

If investigators are eventually able to identify and locate the suspect, he could face serious criminal charges for robbery and weapons offenses.

Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance with the investigation. Anyone with information about the suspect or the alleged robbery is asked to contact the Camden County Police Department tip line at 856-757-7042.
