A Camden NJ woman reportedly admitted to helping her children conceal evidence in a 2010 double murder.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the 42-year-old woman helped two of her kids hide evidence connected to the gang-related killing of a Burlington County NJ couple.
The homicide occurred at the home of the mother. She lives on the 500 block of Berkley Street in Camden, New Jersey.
The victims were a 23-year-old man from Mount Holly and an 18-year-old woman from Cinnaminson.
Police said that one of the victims was beaten, gagged, and bound at the house. The victim was later shot and stabbed.
It is believed that members of the Bloods street gang committed the murders because one of the victims was reportedly involved with the rival Crips gang.
The other victim was allegedly killed because the suspects did not want any witnesses to the murder.
A total of 10 people were convicted of the killings. Several of the suspects lived in Pennsauken and Camden. After being convicted, the suspects were sentenced to a combined total of 297 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Meanwhile, the mother of two of the suspects in the killing eventually pleaded guilty to hindering apprehension. According to prosecutors, she bought cleaning supplies and helped her kids remove evidence after the murders.
She is likely to be sentenced to 2 years of probation.
