Police have released a sketch of a sexual assault suspect from an incident that took place Thursday night.
The sexual assault took place on Spruce Street in Camden. The suspect allegedly pulled his car up next to the victim in a White Toyota Avalon and forced her to get into the car where he proceeded to sexually assault her before driving away. He has been described as a hispanic male, roughly 5 feet 7 inches tall. A video showing the Toyota the suspect was allegedly driving has also been released.
If the suspect is apprehended by the police, he could be charged with aggravated sexual assault which is a first degree crime in New Jersey, the most serious in the criminal code. If convicted, he would be subject to 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison, community supervision for life, Megan’s Law Registration, and psychosexual evaluation. Further, since aggravated sexual assault is included under the “No Early Release Act,” a person must serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
