Cherry Hill NJ police are searching for suspects who allegedly shoplifted from a local Walmart store.
According to authorities, two men were in the Cherry Hill Walmart when the store’s loss prevention officers noticed them behaving suspiciously. When the security guards approached the suspects, they stopped pushing a shopping cart filled with merchandise. The suspects then exited the store and drove away in a dark-colored sedan.
Sometime after the two suspects left the Walmart, a third suspect took the shopping cart and fled the scene.
Cherry Hill police conducted an investigation and obtained video surveillance footage taken from inside the Walmart. Police used the video footage to get descriptions of the suspects. One of the suspects is a heavy-set black male, while another suspect is a thin male.
Cherry Hill NJ police are also searching for two female suspects who allegedly stole a credit card in an unrelated incident. The suspects are said to have taken the credit card and then used it to purchase various items in stores throughout South Jersey.
Police recently released pictures of the suspects. The photos were obtained from video surveillance footage that shows the suspects using the stolen credit card.
If the suspects in either case are eventually identified and apprehended, they would face severe penalties. For example, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-6(c) classifies credit card theft as a third degree felony. A conviction for third degree credit card theft could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
The Cherry Hill Police Department is asking for the public’s help in tracking down the suspects in both of these alleged thefts. Anyone with information about the shoplifting incident or the credit card theft incident should contact investigators at 856-432-8828 or 956-432-8825.
