Yesterday afternoon, a man was arrested in Westampton for trying to pass a fake prescription.
The man, Wade Jackson from Trenton, entered the CVS on Springside Road and allegedly attempted to pass a false prescription for 90 onxcodone pills. The police were called and when they arrived, they noticed a gold mini van leaving the parking lot. The officers subsequently stopped the vehicle and determined that the three passengers were involved with Jackson in trying to get the pills. All four suspects were then arrested and charged with attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription and conspiracy to produce a fraudulent prescription. They are currently being held on $5,000 bail.
In New Jersey, a person who obtains or attempts to obtain possession of a prescription drug by forgery or deception is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree. The penalties for this crime can include up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison, a $750 payment to the Drug Enforcement Demand Reduction (DEDR), and possibly other fines
