A Gloucester City NJ man recently pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two young girls in Washington Township, New Jersey.
According to prosecutors, the 59-year-old suspect improperly touched the two victims. Both victims were reportedly under the age of 13 when the sexual acts occurred.
The illegal sexual activity with one victim allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2008. The multiple sexual assaults of the second victim allegedly occurred during 2010 and 2011.
Authorities learned of the alleged criminal acts when the victims came forward in 2013.
The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation and determined that sexual assault charges should be filed in the case.
The suspect, a dockworker in Gloucester City NJ, was arrested a short time later.
While awaiting resolution of his case, the suspect was held in jail on a $150,000 bail amount.
Now that the suspect has pleaded guilty to sexual assault, the prosecutor’s office will likely recommend two consecutive 5-year sentences. The suspect would serve the sentences in New Jersey State Prison.
Additionally, the suspect will have to serve a minimum of 85 percent of any sentence before he becomes eligible for parole.
Beyond that, the suspect will like have to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law after his release from prison.
