Haddonfield NJ Police Search for Man Who Allegedly Robbed Local Rite Aid, Stole Car

Haddonfield NJ Armed Robbery LawyersPolice are searching for a man who allegedly committed an armed robbery at a Haddonfield NJ Rite Aid and then stole a car.

Shortly after 12:00 p.m., the Haddonfield Police Department received a report of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid store located at 715 Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

The suspect allegedly entered the pharmacy and brandished a handgun. He reportedly stole a number of prescription medications and then ran to the parking lot, where he allegedly pulled a person out of a parked car and drove away.

By the time police got to the scene, the suspect was gone. Haddonfield police officers, assisted by the Camden County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, canvassed the area in search of the suspect; however, they were unable to find the suspect.

During the search of the area, police locked down two nearby schools.

Police eventually located the vehicle that the suspect allegedly stole from the pharmacy parking lot. The car had been abandoned approximately one block from the Rite Aid. It is believed that the suspect ditched the car and then fled the scene on foot.

The Haddonfield Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office are working together on an investigation into the theft. At this time, investigators have yet to identify a suspect in the robbery.

Police recently released a description of the robbery suspect. He is described as a white male who stands roughly 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. During the robbery, he wore an orange and yellow traffic vest, a dark hooded sweatshirt, a hat, and goggles.

If the suspect is eventually identified and captured, he would be subject to severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, anyone who commits a robbery while using a deadly weapon such as a firearm can be charged with a first degree felony. A conviction on first degree armed robbery charges could lead to a sentence of 10-20 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Anyone with information about the alleged robbery or the suspect should call Haddonfield NJ detectives at 856-429-3000 or Camden County Prosecutor’s Office investigators at 856-225-8569.
