A man from Mantua NJ is headed to prison after pleading guilty to distributing crack cocaine in Camden, New Jersey.
The suspect is a 41-year-old resident of Mantua in Gloucester County, NJ. He was accused of running an illegal drug distribution operation. According to federal prosecutors, the suspect’s illegal business involved the sale of crack cocaine on Pfeiffer Street in Camden NJ.
In addition to overseeing the cocaine distribution to drug addicts in Camden, the suspect also reportedly provided the supply for other crack cocaine dealers in the Camden NJ area.
The drug operation ran from May 2014 to September 2015. Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted an extensive investigation into the suspect and eventually placed him under arrest.
The suspect was charged with numerous drug crimes and was set to stand trial in U.S. District Court. However, the suspect was able to avoid trial by reaching a plea deal with the US Attorney’s Office. The suspect pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base.
In exchange for the suspect pleading guilty, prosecutors agreed to recommend a more lenient sentence than he would have faced if convicted on all of the criminal charges against him.
