A Mount Ephraim NJ man will be spending several years in New Jersey State Prison after he was convicted of distribution of child pornography.
According to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, the 28-year-old suspect uploaded numerous illicit sexual images of minors to the Internet.
Law enforcement became aware of the suspect’s illegal activity during a sting operation by detectives with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. A detective accessed multiple videos of child pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing network. One of the videos reportedly showed a male adult raping an underage girl.
Authorities then opened a detailed investigation into the suspect. The agencies involved in the investigation included the New Jersey State Police and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Detectives were eventually able to trace the child pornography videos to the suspect’s IP address.
When police executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home in Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, they discovered two laptop computers that had 265 videos and images of child pornography.
After a trial in Camden County Superior Court, in Camden NJ, a jury convicted the suspect on several sex crime charges, including second degree distribution of child pornography, second degree offering of child pornography, and fourth degree possession of child pornography.
Now the suspect has been sentenced to a term of incarceration of eight years in NJ State Prison.
