An off-duty Runnemede police officer stopped a man who allegedly robbed a local pharmacy at knifepoint.
According to authorities, Runnemede police sergeant Dan Murray was a customer at a CVS Pharmacy on North Black Horse Pike when a man entered the store and threatened a pharmacist.
The suspect allegedly approached the pharmacist and demanded medication, including Percocet and other pain medications.

When the suspect refused to surrender, Murray physically subdued him. According to witnesses, Murray’s 18-year-old son and another customer assisted during the struggle. Thankfully, no one was injured.
Police later revealed that the suspect is a 27-year-old Blackwood NJ man. He has been charged with robbery, prescription drug offenses, aggravated assault on a police officer, and a number of weapons offenses.
