A man from Pemberton has been arrested for allegedly selling methamphetamine. The suspect, Juan Valencia, was in the process of being arrested by police when he proceeded to drive his car into the New Jersey State Police vehicle. He was shot in the arm by the police at some time during the incident.
Valencia is being held in Burlington County Jail on $300,000 bail, most likely on distribution of a controlled dangerous substance charges. The penalties for this crime can vary depending on a number of factors including how much of the drug the person had on them. Also, penalties can be enhanced if the suspect was near a school zone. Depending on the amount of methamphetamine involved, Valencia could face second degree charges which can result in 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
