Police Arrest Carjacking Suspect in Lindenwold, New Jersey

Lindenwold New Jersey Carjacking AttorneysLindenwold NJ police recently arrested a Gloucester Township woman in connection with a reported carjacking.

According to authorities, the female suspect approached a woman who was exiting a store on the 600 block of Blackwood-Clementon Road in Lindenwold, New Jersey. The suspect told the victim that she was a victim of domestic violence and needed a ride to the local police station.

The victim agreed to take the suspect in her vehicle. However, after traveling just a few blocks, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the victim.

The suspect demanded that the victim get out of the car. The suspect also reportedly stole the victim’s wallet.

Once the victim was out of the vehicle, the suspect drove off.

The victim contacted Lindenwold police and alerted them to the carjacking. Police officers were then sent to the scene at the intersection of Spring Garden Street and Blackwood-Clementon Road.

While driving to the scene, a police officer noticed a vehicle which matched the description of the stolen car. The vehicle was traveling on Gibbsboro Road in Lindenwold, NJ. The officer stopped the vehicle on Emerson Avenue.

After bringing the car to a stop, the female suspect and a male passenger allegedly tried to walk away very quickly. The officer detained the female suspect; other officers apprehended the male suspect.

A subsequent search of the car reportedly turned up the knife used by the female suspect to commit the carjacking.

The female suspect has been charged with carjacking, robbery, and obstruction of justice. She also faces charges for weapons offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Meanwhile, the male suspect has been charged with obstruction of justice. Police believe that the female suspect picked up the male suspect shortly after the carjacking.

After being arrested and processed, the female suspect was taken to Camden County Jail. She is being held at the facility in lieu of $450,000 bail. The male suspect was released from police custody on his own recognizance.
