Police arrested a man who allegedly robbed a woman outside the Brooklawn Shopping Center in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
The suspect is a 21-year-old man. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect committed the theft crime in the area of the Brooklawn Shopping Center, near CW Clark Auto Sales on Route 130 in Gloucester City, NJ.
It was around 6:30 a.m. when the suspect allegedly approached the female victim, grabbed her by the hair, and threw her to the ground. The suspect then allegedly stole the victim’s purse and fled from the scene on foot.
The victim dialed 911 to alert local law enforcement, which dispatched police officers to the scene. Gloucester City cops then canvassed the area and eventually located the suspect on the roof of a storage building.
The suspect has been charged with robbery, a felony that carries severe penalties. If the suspect is convicted on the robbery charges, he could potentially be sentenced to years in prison.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was remanded to the Camden County Jail.
