Police are currently asking for help from the public in searching for a man who has been allegedly stealing debit cards around the Washington Township area.
The suspect has supposedly been entering medical office buildings in Washington Township, Evesham, and Stratford and stealing the debit cards from employees in the offices before making purchases with them. Authorities have obtained and released a picture of the suspect that was taken at a Wawa in Washington Township.
If the suspect is apprehended by the police, he can be charged with several counts of credit card theft and credit card fraud. Credit card theft in this case would be a crime of the fourth degree and carries an 18 month prison sentence. Credit card fraud on the other hand is a third degree crime in New Jersey that carries a 3 to 5 year sentence in New Jersey State Prison.
