Police in Camden New Jersey recently arrested three men after allegedly finding weapons and drugs in their car during a traffic stop.
According to authorities, a Camden County sheriff was driving near 7th Street and Linden Street in Camden NJ when he spotted the suspects’ vehicle committing a traffic violation. The sheriff stopped the suspects’ car and ran their information.
When the sheriff learned that all three occupants of the car had outstanding warrants, he placed them under arrest.
Camden police continued to investigate after the men were taken into custody. The investigation, which involved a search of the vehicle, reportedly turned up two illegal handguns, as well as a “substantial amount” of heroin.
Authorities later revealed that one of the handguns recovered from the suspects’ car had been reported stolen out of Philadelphia, PA.
The three suspects, ages 21, 25, and 25, face numerous criminal charges. All three men have been charged with multiple weapons offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon. The suspects have also been charged with drug crimes that include possession of heroin.
After being arrested and processed, the suspects were taken to the Camden County Jail. The driver of the vehicle was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of $100,000 bail. Meanwhile, the other two suspects were being held at the jail on separate $75,000 bail amounts.
