Police Looking for Information on Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Audubon, NJ

Audubon NJ Hit-and-Run Accident InvestigationCamden County NJ police are searching for the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Audubon, New Jersey.

The fatal crash occurred on a rain-slicked road at the intersection of East Atlantic Avenue and West Graisbury Avenue in Audubon, NJ. The 36-year-old victim was found lying on the side of the road sometime after 10:30 p.m.

The victim was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, which is located in Camden, NJ. Unfortunately, the victim, who lived in Audubon, was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy was performed later and revealed that the victim’s cause of death was blunt force trauma. According to authorities, the cause of death was consistent with being struck by a car.

Camden County police have been investigating the fatal accident and searching for a suspect in the case. Days after the accident, police officers were stationed near the scene so that they could distribute flyers to local residents. The hope is that someone will come forward with information about the crash.

Although Audubon police spoke with a number of people after the accident, no arrests have been made in the case.

If a suspect is eventually identified and apprehended, they would likely face serious criminal charges for vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-4, anyone who recklessly causes the death of another person can potentially be charged with a second degree felony. A conviction on second degree manslaughter charges could result in a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Anyone who has information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to contact the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office at 856-225-8514.
