Police recently arrested a Pine Hill NJ man who allegedly tried to commit a burglary at a residence in Clementon, New Jersey.
Police officers were dispatched to a home located on Highland Avenue after the Clementon Police Department received a call about a burglary in progress. The victim told a police dispatcher that the suspect gained entry to her home by throwing a brick through the rear sliding glass door.
Once the suspect was inside the house, he reportedly walked up the steps to the second floor. At that point, the victim confronted the suspect. The victim had a large piece of cable in her hands and ordered the suspect to move into the living room.
When the officers arrived at the residence, they found the suspect waiting in the living room. According to law enforcement, the victim managed to keep the suspect at the house until police could get there.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with burglary. If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the burglary charges, he faces significant penalties. That’s because N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2 typically classifies burglary as a third degree felony. Anyone convicted of burglary can be sentenced to 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
