Police recently arrested a man accused of robbing a convenience store in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
The 51-year-old suspect, who lives in the Sicklerville part of Winslow Township, allegedly entered the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 615 Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield, NJ. The incident occurred around 9 p.m.
Once inside the store, the suspect attempted to make a purchase. He then allegedly “lunged” at the cash register while it was open. According to law enforcement, the suspect managed to grab approximately $40 from the register.
When the store clerk attempted to stop the suspect from taking the money, the suspect reportedly jumped over the counter and attacked the clerk.
With the stolen cash in hand, the suspect reportedly ran out of the store and fled on Haddon Avenue.
Haddonfield NJ detectives received several anonymous tips about the suspect. Police used the tips to determine the suspect’s whereabouts.
Haddonfield police eventually arrested the suspect without incident.
The suspect was subsequently charged with a number of crimes, including robbery, theft of movable property, and simple assault.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Camden County Jail. He was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of a $52,500 bail amount.
