Cherry Hill Township police are searching for three female suspects accused of stealing jackets from a store at the Cherry Hill Mall.
The theft reportedly occurred around 8:25 p.m. Three women allegedly entered The North Face Store at the Cherry Hill Mall and stole several expensive jackets.
The trio of suspects allegedly took at least 12 jackets from the clothing store. According to officials, the value of the stolen clothing is more than $2,000.
The Cherry Hill Police Department is actively investigating the shoplifting incident. At this time, police have not yet identified any of the suspects. The police department recently released surveillance photographs of the suspects in the hopes that someone might recognize them. The photos were released to the media and posted on the police department’s Facebook page.
If authorities can eventually identify and locate the suspects, the shoplifters would be subject to significant criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:20-11(b), shoplifting items with a retail value above $500 is a third degree felony. A conviction for third degree shoplifting could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
