Gloucester Township NJ police are investigating a hit-and-run accident and theft at a local Chick-Fil-A restaurant.
The theft occurred around 3:00 p.m. According to authorities, the car accident occurred in the parking lot of the Chick-Fil-A located at 481 Cross Keys Road in Gloucester Township, New Jersey. The victim parked her vehicle in the restaurant parking lot and was walking toward the building when she was approached by a man who informed her that she had dropped her purse on the ground. As the woman turned around, she saw that the suspect had picked up her purse.
The suspect allegedly ran away from the woman and towards a gold Toyota Siena that was in the parking lot. He reportedly got into the mini-van and drove away. During the course of his getaway, the suspect allegedly crashed into the victim.
The victim, a 20-year-old woman who lives in Sicklerville NJ, sustained minor injuries as a result of the violent incident. She was briefly treated at the scene by emergency medical responders and then taken to a nearby hospital so that she could receive medical treatment from doctors.
Gloucester Township authorities are trying to determine the identity of the suspect. He has been described as a white male in his early 20s. At the time of the theft, the suspect was wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts.
If police can eventually identify and apprehend the suspect, he would likely face serious criminal charges for theft of movable property, aggravated assault, and leaving the scene of an accident.
