Camden County police are investigating a possible homicide after authorities found a body in Cooper River.
At this time, law enforcement officials are not releasing very many details about the victim or the circumstances of the victim’s death. However, the investigation is ongoing and it is likely that details will be forthcoming in the days and weeks ahead.
A spokesperson for the Camden County Police Department said that the local law enforcement got a 911 call around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, with the caller reporting that they saw a body in Cooper River near the intersection of Baird Boulevard and Admiral Wilson Boulevard. The site is near Camden High School.
When Camden County NJ cops arrived at the scene, they found the victim’s body and proceeded to pull it out of the water.
While emergency crews were dealing with the situation, pedestrians were told to use the opposite side of the street.
Depending on the outcome of the official police investigation into the death, it is possible that criminal charges for murder or manslaughter could be filed.
