Police recently arrested a Camden NJ man who allegedly distributed heroin in Pine Hill, New Jersey.
The arrest was made around 6:30 p.m. According to law enforcement, the suspect was driving a car on the 900 block of Erial Road when Camden County detectives stopped his vehicle and conducted a search of the car. While searching the motor vehicle, members of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Suburban Narcotics Task Force allegedly discovered in excess of 50 wax paper folds containing heroin.
The 28-year-old suspect, who lives in Camden NJ, was subsequently placed under arrest. He has been charged with numerous drug crimes, including possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, and distribution of heroin near a public park.
If the suspect is convicted on the most serious charges of distributing heroin, he would be in store for severe criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5, a person who possesses with intent to distribute more than five ounces of heroin can be charged with a first degree crime.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility in Camden, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail in lieu of a $50K bail amount.
