Two Gloucester County men have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a residence in Berlin Township, New Jersey.
One of the suspects is from Williamstown NJ, while the other suspect is from Glassboro NJ.
The incident occurred in early April. Berlin Township police received a call about a burglary near the area of Haddon Avenue and Patton Avenue.
The suspects reportedly entered the residence through a rear door. Once the suspects were inside the house, they rummaged through the residents’ belongings and eventually stole a number of items.
Berlin police investigated the theft and obtained video surveillance footage from the area. The video reportedly shows the suspects as they exit the property on foot.
The men were later identified after authorities released the surveillance video footage from the scene of the burglary. Members of the public came forward and offered assistance in identifying the suspects.
Both suspects have been charged with burglary in the case. If the men are convicted on the burglary charges, they face significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, burglary is typically classified as a third degree felony. A conviction on third degree burglary charges can lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
After the suspects were arrested, the Berlin Township Police Department posted a message on its official Facebook site and thanked the public for helping to identify the men.
