Gloucester Township police recently arrested a man accused of drug possession and promoting prostitution.
The arrest was made during the early morning hours. The Gloucester Township Police Department received a call from a 21-year-old woman who said that the suspect had sexually assaulted her.
Authorities took the woman to JFK Hospital in Stratford New Jersey, where she received a medical evaluation.
Meanwhile, Gloucester Township NJ police officers obtained a search warrant and then a SWAT team executed it at the Chestertown Road home of the 62-year-old suspect the following day.
During a search of the suspect’s residence, police allegedly discovered an unspecified amount of crack cocaine.
The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest without incident. He has been charged with a number of crimes, including promoting prostitution, invasion of privacy, and cocaine possession.
At this time, the suspect has not yet been charged with sexual assault in the case. However, authorities said that the investigation into the sexual assault allegations is ongoing.
