Camden County police recently arrested a Lindenwold NJ man accused of selling deadly heroin which caused a fatal overdose.
According to Camden County prosecutors, the 26-year-old suspect sold heroin to a 29-year-old Laurel Springs NJ man on April 6, 2014. The man died a few hours later.
Authorities conducted an autopsy and determined that the victim’s death was the result of “the adverse effects of drugs.”
Police conducted an investigation into the case and used cell phone records to track down the suspect. According to authorities, the suspect was easy to find: he was already in the Camden County Jail on unrelated charges.
Now the suspect faces homicide charges. He has been charged with first degree strict liability for a drug-induced death. If the suspect is convicted of the very serious charges, he could be sentenced to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Additionally, the suspect has been charged with three counts of heroin possession, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute near a school.
