A Camden NJ man was arrested after police allegedly found him passed out in an intersection and in possession of a stolen gun.
A Camden police officer was on patrol during the early morning hours when he saw the 32-year-old suspect laying in the middle of the intersection of Sayrs Avenue and Davis Street in Camden, New Jersey.
According to the officer, the suspect was initially unresponsive. However, the police officer was eventually able to wake up the suspect.
During the incident, the police officer allegedly saw that the suspect was in possession of a revolver. A subsequent search of the suspect reportedly turned up a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. Additionally, the suspect was charged with certain persons not to have weapons because the suspect reportedly has a previous felony conviction on his criminal record.
Investigators later determined that the revolver had been reported stolen out of Camden, New Jersey. As a result, the suspect was also charged with receiving stolen property.
Immediately after being arrested, the suspect was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Once the suspect had been successfully treated for a drug overdose, he was sent to the Camden County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 bail amount.
