Police are investigating the theft of funds from a donation box in Berlin Township, New Jersey.
The deplorable act occurred at Sahara Sam’s Oasis water park, which is located at 535 North Route 73 in West Berlin NJ.
According to authorities, the suspect entered the water park and took the donation box when no one was looking. The box was hooked up to a kiosk which was unattended at the time of the theft.
The donation box is used to raise funds for a nonprofit group that provides care for children with special needs.
Park employees later noticed that the box was missing and notified Berlin Township police, who dispatched officers to the scene sometime after the incident.
Berlin police officers investigated the alleged theft and obtained surveillance video footage from the water park. The video footage reportedly shows the suspect carrying a small child as he swipes the donation box.
Police have release a description of the suspect. He is described as a white male with short blonde or light brown hair. He was reportedly wearing a dark jacket, grey sweatpants, and dark sneakers when he took the box.
