A state prison corrections officer, Conrad Jackson, has been sentenced to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison for conspiracy to commit official misconduct.
The charges stem from Jackson smuggling various contraband into the Winslow facility including tobacco, drugs, and cellphone twice a week for around one year. The prison is a minimum security facility that Jackson had worked at for 5 years. He has been dismissed since he plead to second degree conspiracy to commit official misconduct. The smuggling operation involved a middle man who was a prisoner at the facility. He would receive the contraband from Jackson and sell it to the other inmates.
The third conspirator was a romantic partner of Jackson who he would wire some of the money received from the sales to. This woman plead to third degree conspiracy to commit official misconduct and is still awaiting sentencing.
