New Jersey Police Searching for Suspects Who Robbed Banks in Haddon Township, Merchantville

Bank Robberies in Haddon Township and MerchantvilleHaddon Township police and Camden County detectives are searching for two men who allegedly committed separate bank robberies.

According to law enforcement, the first robbery occurred in December at the Santander Bank on the 300 block of Haddon Avenue.

A suspect walked into the bank during the afternoon and approached a bank teller. The suspect reportedly handed the teller a note; the note instructed the teller to hand over cash.

The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then ran out of the bank and fled the area on foot. According to witnesses, the suspect ran down Haddon Avenue while making his getaway.

Witnesses at the scene provided police with a description of the suspect. He has been described as a white male in either his late 20s or early 30s. He is said to have a stout build. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dark sneakers.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the second robbery occurred in late January at the PNC bank located on West Maple Avenue in Merchantville, NJ.

The suspect walked into the bank and allegedly handed a note to a bank teller. The note demanded that the teller give the suspect cash.

After obtaining an unspecified amount of money from the teller, the suspect exited the bank through a backdoor. Witnesses said that he ran east on West Maple Avenue.

Witnesses told police that the suspect is a white male who has a thin build and stands roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall. At the time of the robbery, he was reportedly wearing a navy jacket, blue jeans, and black gloves. His face was partially obscured by a black cap.

Police believe that the suspect may be connected to a bank robbery committed around the same time at a Santander Bank in Burlington County, New Jersey.

Authorities have asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. Anyone who has information about either bank robbery suspect should reach out to Camden County detectives at 856-225-8684, Haddon police detectives at 856-854-1176, or Merchantville investigators at 856-662-0507.
