Camden New Jersey police are trying to identify a man accused of robbing a local deli.
According to law enforcement, the suspect broke into Camden Seafood and Deli shortly before midnight. The restaurant is located at the intersection of Fifth Street and Market Street in Camden, New Jersey.
Once the suspect was inside the building, he opened the cash register and stole an unspecified amount of cash. He also reportedly took a number of drinks before exiting the store and fleeing the scene.
Camden NJ police were notified of the theft sometime later. They immediately began to investigate. Detectives obtained video surveillance footage of the suspect inside the deli.
Now police are releasing video footage of the suspect in the hopes that members of the public will recognize him and provide police with tips on his identity.
The suspect has been described by Camden investigators as a white or Hispanic male who may have a tattoo on his left hand. When the suspect broke into the business, he was wearing a light-colored shirt and light-colored pants.
If authorities are eventually able to identify and apprehend the suspect, he would be subject to serious criminal charges for robbery, burglary, and theft. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, burglary is typically classified as a third degree criminal offense. Anyone convicted on third degree burglary charges can be sentenced to 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
