Evesham Township NJ police recently arrested a Philadelphia PA man suspected of committing a string of burglaries in Evesham Township over a 13-month period.
According to authorities, the 54-year-old suspect burglarized the Woodview at Marlton Apartments at least 10 times.
The first burglary reportedly occurred in November 2013. That’s when Evesham Township police began investigating the case.
The burglaries continued at the apartment complex for some time after that. Over the course of the next 13 months, the suspect allegedly burglarized another 9 apartments.
The victims reported a number of stolen items, including jewelry, clothing, and electronics. One victim reported a missing firearm.
Investigators recognized a pattern in the burglaries: the culprit always targeted apartments on weekdays and during hours when the residents were likely to be at work.
Police said that the burglar gained access to the apartments by using a “bump key” to open tumbler locks on the front doors.
Police eventually identified the suspect and placed him under arrest. He has been charged with 10 counts of residential burglary and 19 counts of theft of movable property.
The suspect is being held at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly NJ in lieu of $220,000 bail.
