Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to burglarize a home in Clementon, New Jersey.
The property crime occurred around 10:20 p.m. at a residence located on Atlantic Avenue in Clementon, NJ. A female resident noticed someone trying to break into her home through a rear door and immediately dialed 911 to alert local law enforcement. The Clementon Police Department dispatched officers to the scene.
When Clementon NJ cops arrived in the neighborhood, they reportedly saw the suspect attempting to flee the scene and placed him under arrest.
The suspect is a 30-year-old man who lives in the Atco area of Waterford Township, NJ. He has been charged with criminal trespassing, but he does not yet face theft charges because police reportedly apprehended him before he could steal any items from the Clementon home.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Camden County Jail in Camden, NJ.
In wake of the recent burglary attempt, Clementon NJ police have advised local residents to exercise caution when leaving their homes in the morning and at night. Homeowners should lock all doors and consider installing alarm systems.
