Pine Hill NJ police recently arrested five people and reportedly recovered heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.
The arrests came about because of police surveillance and traffic enforcement by Pine Hill police.
The first arrest occurred during a traffic stop. Police officers, responding to an increase in illegal drug activity near The Greens at Pine Hill, stopped a motor vehicle on Blackwood-Clementon Road.
At some point during the stop, the officers became suspicious of the 30-year-old driver. Police eventually placed the driver under arrest for possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
Police later obtained a search warrant and allegedly found a loaded 9mm Beretta handgun. According to law enforcement, the gun had been reported stolen. The suspect was then charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.
Additionally, police allegedly discovered 122 packs of heroin and an undisclosed quantity of marijuana. As a result, the suspect was also charged with possession of marijuana.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility. He is being held at the jail in lieu of $281,000 bail.
Pine Hill police made several other arrests while conducting another traffic stop on Blackwood-Clementon Road. Patrol officers attempted to pull over a 23-year-old driver for allegedly failing to stop and then eluding officers.
The suspect reportedly crashed into a fence and then tried to toss crack cocaine out of the vehicle.
The officers arrested the suspect, as well as three occupants of the car.
Pine Hill police later obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and allegedly found marijuana inside the car.
The driver was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Additionally, he was charged with eluding police. The suspect was later transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility, where he is being held in lieu of $85,000 bail.
Meanwhile, two of the passengers were charged with simple possession of marijuana and released on their own recognizance.
